Happy New Year! I'm back on the weight-loss program myself!

Happy New Year. It's January 2nd and football season is over (for me anyway, as a Redskin fan). For those of you that haven’t read back a few months, I’ve been on ‘maintenance mode’ since football season started – after all beer and Doritos are THE single most important part of tailgate season. So all I have cared about was maintaining my weight since September. That being said, I managed to gain a few pounds between the holidays and my thinking that I had things ‘under control’ without actually logging my food. So begins a new year and a new contest at the gym, so I’ve switched myself to weight loss mode. 1 pound per week during the contest, then I think I will be at the perfect weight (yes, I actually said perfect). Maybe at that point I’ll use my powerful tool so that I can work on a little muscle toning (gaining weight in form of muscle without gaining any fat). So, day one of the new year and my husband comes home with some – um – less than healthy food choices. “It’s bowl game day” was his reason when I gave him a look. Fortunately, I had been at the gym and done some treadmilling so already had some earned calories under my belt for the day. Still ended out the day at a 159 calorie surplus, I’m thinking that’s due to that darned lemon meringue pie that he snuck in on me at the end of the evening…. Today’s looking fabulous, he had off (Federal holiday) so we ran a few errands and came in and did some paperwork at the gym – great for eating habits, because I was able to eat both lunch and dinner at the gym (Diet to Go for both meals). While he’s in his PT session this evening I had a good hour of treadmill time, so I am sitting pretty. Sitting so pretty, in fact, that when we go home and he points out that there are a few left over cookies I won’t decline!!! Have a great day all. Best wishes to whatever your 2007 Resolution is. Sharron
