Ad in Today's Washington Post Parade Magazine

Okay, I give up – so how DO you become one of those ‘resource’ people? We were sitting Wegman’s for a leisurely breakfast this morning (which we walked to, thank you very much). What did I see? Headline of the Parade Magazine in today’s Post, “You can slow the aging process”. These excerpts are taken directly from the article (the writer’s name is Dr. Henry S. Lodge, making sure to give credit where credit is due): “ . . Jon and Barbara weren’t getting old; they had let their bodies decay. Most aging is just the dry rot we program into our cells by sedentary living, junk food and stress. Yes, we do have to get old, and ultimately we do have to die. But our bodies are designed to age slowly and remarkably well. Most of what we see and fear is decay, and decay is only one choice. . . . “ “When you don’t exercise, your muscles let out a steady trickle of chemicals that tell every cell to decay, day after day after day.” (this particular sentence is accompanied by reminders that you replace about 1% of your cells every day – thusly, you have an opportunity to sort of create a whole ‘new you’ every quarter or so!) Thank you, Dr. Henry. S. Lodge, we’ve been trying to tell people this for YEAR’S. Problem is, no one wants to believe us. Instead, looking for the magic pill or just assuming that the current fad diet or ‘wellness’ clinic is going to take care of this for them. Come on people, didn’t your mother teach you that if it sounds too good to be true it probably is? Only you can be responsible for your health, wellness, and youthfulness. No little pill can help you do that. Eat less calories, be more physically active. That’s all it’s about – really. One more heartfelt ‘THANKS’ goes out to Dr. Henry S. Lodge. And a quick question, in case you happen to be Googling yourself one day in the near future – how do WE become resources of information for things like this? Yours in Health, Wellness, and Beauty, (and Youthfulness), Sharron
