Man that was a tough ride . . . We participated in the Amish Century in St Mary’s County, Maryland. I can officially say that I was NOT as well prepared as I would have liked to have been. There were plenty of hills. The ONLY good thing about going up a hill is that you know ‘what goes up must come down’. And thank heavens for that, because those down hill times gave us the opportunity to bump up that average MPH otherwise, it would have taken me DAYS to finish that 100 miles.
I uploaded my bodybugg data this morning (sorry, last night was just out of the question – had my legs propped up and was consuming pizza and ice cream and napping in my chair all night) – I managed to burn
3,565 calories yesterday. Needless to say, that was my highest calorie burn ever!! Of course, doing more activity meant that I was more hungry, and they feed you a number of times during the ride…so I managed to eat more calories then I burned, about 932 more calories.
And that’s why it’s so hard to lose weight – those that choose to do it by exercise find themselves hungrier and eat more. Those that choose to eat less to lose weight find themselves more tired so lounge around and burn less calories …… Which is why the bodybugg™ is so powerful. It allows you to monitor both your incoming and outgoing calorie counts. It’s such a powerful tool that even the TV show ‘Biggest Loser’ is using it this season!
