I'm back on track, and jumping on the bandwagon with everyone else!

Good evening!
Well, now we all now – it happens to absolutely all of us.  Even though I have this fabulous tool in my hands and wear it every single day, I’ve not been good about updating my Food Log so that I can balance BOTH ends of the calorie numbers (both numbers = Calories Burned and Calories Consumed).

So, instead of going through all of the excuse – I’m ready to get back on the bandwagon and track my incoming calories…. Starting today.  Here’s my day (don’t worry, I don’t plan on doing this every day – but what better way to commit yourself???)

Weigh in 158.5

Breakfast was 2 pop tarts (400 calories)
Lunch was 2 hot dogs (each with a 110 calorie bun and a 70 calorie turkey dog, and one slice of dill pickle, and a total of .25 cup of cheddar cheese)

Total calories consumed so far = 814

I have had a fairly typical day, drove to Waldorf and back (sat in a two hour meeting), light grocery store trip, then to the gym where it was MOBBED so I only did 30 minutes of cardio and about 20 minutes of weight training (all arms).  Total calories burned through about 5:50pm = 1831

That’s a deficit of 1017 calories (deficit means that I BURNED more calories then I ate, which is the entire point of the program if you want to lose weight).  My Goal?  To lose 8.5 pounds, I’m going to start a little aggressive and lose a pound a week.  After about 4 or 5 pounds, I’ll probably cut myself back and be a little less aggressive (allowing myself either more food or less exercise every day).  Once I lose the first 5 pounds or so, probably no one but me will notice the rest of the weight….. so why push myself so hard?

In case you were wondering, dinner’s going to be pasta with Ragu (Traditional Ragu – I use it very lightly, just coloring the pasta – then add cheese, of course).  I don’t always use light or fat free products, because I like the taste of the ‘real’ stuff, so I either eat less of the ‘real’ stuff or add in a little extra physical activity to make up for the calories (although sometimes there’s not a huge calorie difference between ‘light’ and ‘regular’ – watch those labels).

Have a great evening.  Good luck to everyone that’s taken on the Weight New Year’s Resolution!!!
