Gained weight on vacation, didn't you?

Here’s a great article about weight gain on vacation and helping you understand the thought process behind balancing your incoming and outgoing calories.

Fair warning, though, they have a chart about the number of calories burned during specific activities… This chart is an EXCELLENT indicator of how different the number of calories burned per weight category.  I reviewed a few of the rows of activities in my weight column, many are fairly close to what I burn but not an exact representation.  At 145 pounds, walking on the treadmill at 3.0 to 3.2 MPH (at an incline of 2.5) I burn just over 4 calories per minute (all while reading a book to entertain myself).  It’s great reading about understanding how quickly you can consume calories with your favorite beverage or junk food, but how long it takes to burn that same number of calories!!!

THIS is exactly why the bodybugg was created – you track your food (yes, even on vacation) then upload your Armband data and you will see how many calories you burned compared to how many you ate while you were sitting on the beach!!!  Speaking of vacation, I’m heading out shortly to Va Beach to see my Dad who’s still in the hospital after his surgery…. And how did I start the morning?  With a great big sticky bun from my favorite bakery/café on Summerland Key.  (there were more calories in that then in my whole dinner last night)
