One more quick suggestion about finding time for physical activity – MAKE IT FUN! The more fun you make it, the more likely you are to do it. Treadmill time boring? Watch TV or train yourself to read and walk (obviously it’s a slow pace), you’ll find yourself doing MORE time then planned because you want to watch the end of the show or finish a chapter. Take up kayaking with a friend (Scott and I took our first kayak trip last week and had a blast, and I discovered that’s it’s a workout for your core, too). Change things up a little bit, if you generally walk through your neighborhood then bike through it…. You’ll find that you’ll meet some new people – because the bikers have a tendency to wave and greet each other, just like the walkers do.
Be good to yourself, because only YOU can do it…. Do it for you, do it for the kids or the husband, but do it!
