Good morning, everyone!
I meant to log in and publish this this weekend, but just neglected to do so. Tomorrow will mark two weeks since my surgery to remove the pelvic mass and I’m beginning to finally feel a little more normal. About mid-week next week I finally found a comfortable sleeping position – only one comfortable position and I still woke up in time for my pain pill every night.
My follow up appointment last week went well and my scar seems to be healing properly. Of course the doctor did keep me under house arrest for another 4 to 6 weeks (I’m hoping that 4 weeks is all that’s necessary for mending, I’m already anxious), with no driving or lifting.
I am thankful that even Key West has quality doctors and we found it and took care of it before it because a physical problem for me. I am also thankful that I came in to this in good health, which made my recovery all that much faster. (Even the nurses in the holding area before surgery commented about how I appeared to be in good physical condition and how that would help my post-surgery healing process)
Two lessons for everyone here – don’t skip your doctor’s visits and that staying physically active and watching your diet are important not only to leading a healthy lifestyle, but to post-surgery recovery as well.
Get off your duff and go get some exercise!
