Planning dinner and sides and desserts and guests (etc) is complicated enough. But how much turkey DO you need? Butterball's website has a great application that you can input how many adults and children your feeding, and whether you want leftovers or not.

It's a great website for all of us that feel like we need to know a little bit more about cooking a turkey before we tackle it. There are recipes, of course, but the ones that I reviewed do not have calorie counts included. Figuring out calories isn't too terribly hard, if you track what you're putting in to the dish and then divide it by the number of servings you have.
Remember - it's generally not the dish itself (like the turkey) but the items you add to the turkey that are where the high calorie counts lie (approximately 99 calories per ounce of maple syrup).
