Having a pretty good week - so far my calorie count will be kind of tight. Going to he gym tomorrow and I'll get a good walk in on Saturday morning. I think I'll be on track.

4 ways the French Stay Thin
Found this on Yahoo. A fabulous read!
The writer encourages you to .... well, she says it best:
"French women see exertion as an integral part of the day. I encourage you to look at everyday movement (what you do in street clothes, not spandex) as essential to your overall wellness, and not to see exertion as something assigned to the gym."

personal update
Just catching you up on my week - I've had a great week. Went to the gym yesterday and had a great cardio workout. My incoming and outgoing calories are pretty darned close this week. I'm going to be squeaking in at the 1/2 loss tomorrow morning, but I think I'll pull it off.
I've got plenty of time to hit my goal, so I'm not stressed about it - AND I've got the perfect tool to make it happen. So I know I can.

Do I have to exercise for a certain amount of time before my body will dip into its fat reserves?

Another inactive Sunday
It's been another inactive Sunday - sitting on my heinie and watching football. Didn't manage my incoming calories well today, so will have to watch them this week to make up for today.
That's okay, though. I can do that because of the bodybugg, so I'm still on track for my little costume for Fantasy Fest!

Friday update
Happy New Moon!
I managed to get to the gym two times this week - once for cardio only and once for cardio, some weight training and some pilates/abs.
Not to bad with eating this week. This evening wasn't great, sometimes my husband can be a bad influence on me. That's okay, though, because he's got fire training all day tomorrow and I can make it up by going for a long work and having a light lunch.
Here's to getting down to 135 in time for Fantasy Fest!!

My Tuesday
After a slow day at the bank, a girlfriend and I went to the gym. We were a little later then usual, so only did 45 minutes of cardio (we swamped off between treadmill and cross trainer). Managed to make it through the grocery store on an empty stomach (which I NEVER suggest anyone does), and home for a rotisserie chicken. Put my calories in and uploaded the data from my Armband and realized that I still had room for a few more calories - so had a second helping of macaroni salad.
Still on track to lose 1/2 pound this week!

Monday
Updated my Armband data at about 9 and realized that I actually burned more calories then I expected to today. I had a nice little deficit, so allowed myself a little bit of Edy's Slow Churned Ice Cream!
What a nice surprise to end a boring day!!

done eating for the day . . .
After uploading my bodybugg Armband data, I ended out the day just about exactly where I want my daily average calorie Deficit to be!
As for today, as I mentioned in yesterday's post I knew that I'd be sitting around watching football all day - after dinner, I find myself at a 400 calorie Surplus (more food then activity). SO with another 6 hours left in the day, it looks like I'll be about leveling off that number and be at about even. Not great, but not too bad for a day when I have done absolutely NOTHING.
On a positive note, it looks like my Fantasy Team is doing pretty darned well today! I'm up by 26 points!

evening check in
Checking in after logging in my food today - total calories consumed is about 1600 (and that includes a little bit of Edy's Slow Churned ice cream with Scott after he returned home from Fire training).
I'll be finishing my day off probably with a 100 calories shy of my 250 calorie deficit goal today (deficit means burned more calories then I ate). That's okay, because I'll make it up tomorrow/Monday. I'll just watch my calories later in the week, especially on the two days when Scott and I aren't dining together this week.
(also, admittedly I did little activity today I really wasn't 100% back to my 'norm' this morning and did all paperwork and busy work today and even took a little nap)

Tomorrow's football, which will mean another day of sitting around and not doing anything. Will need to make sure and get out and get some activity in before 1pm!
Fri/Sat personal updates
Since I put it out there in writing that I have a desire to drop a few pounds, I thought that I would share my food logging with you today:
Vitamins (Multi & Joint Support)
Fat Free Milk (3/4 cup, 64 calories)
Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal (2 cups, 347 calories)
PBJ sandwich and a bag of Lay's Potato Chips (475 calories)
3 slices of pepperoni pizza (1014 calories)
This is a total of 1901 calories that I ate today. According to my bodybugg data, I burned 1855 calories today as of 7pm.
(MATH ALERT, skip ahead to the ** if you like) If you do the math, that means that I have eaten 46 more calories then I burned today.... HOWEVER, have no fear. My bodybugg update was at 7pm today. So, doing some quick math, when I sit on my heinie I burn 1 calorie per minute. Since there are 5 more hours in the day, I'll burn another 300 calories today.
300 - 46 = 254 calorie deficit at the end of the day. At a 250 calorie deficit a day, I will lose 1/2 pound per week. Since I have 7 weeks until my skimpy costume, that's 3.5 pounds.... So it will put me right at my goal
My weight today? I stepped on the scale this morning and neglected to write down what I weighed SO I can't update you with specifics today, but I'm confident that it's in the 138 range (because that's where my bodybugg data is telling me that I will be).
**You may have just glanced over all that and thought "OH MY GOD" when the math stuff came up. Seriously, I don't think hard about this at all, I only did this example for you to review here. I wear my bodybugg and type what I ate in to my web page and it does the thinking for me (and my web page knows the calorie content of every one of the food items that I ate today, so no thinking on my part)!! Watch the blog for the next couple of weeks. I'll be better about updating it, and you'll watch me drop those 3 pounds that I want to drop before Fantasy Fest!
Saturday morning's update:
Thought I'd update my weight as soon as I stepped on the scale, so that I don't forget again.
137.5
My goal is 135, goal date is 10/31, goal outfit is my cute little number for the Fantasy Fest float!

personal updates
I'm not sure what happened, but at some point during the past couple of months Blogger stopped taking my Emailed posts. My apologies. Since I can't recreate all of my FABULOUS finds (articles, web links, whatever), I'm just going to apologize for letting you think that I've neglected you and update you with my personal posts for the week.
Here was Thursday nights post:
Wow, it's been a while since I've updated you with personal posts. Scott and I are still doing well and loving Key West. He's taking Fire2 classes in Marathon right now, which takes up two evenings a week and all day Saturday. He's been doing the drive for 3 months now (or is it 4?) and I believe that the class is finally over mid-October. Not a great time of year for all of that physical activity outdoors, but otherwise he loves the Fire Department.
I'm doing well. My weight is still hanging in there at 138 - 139. Since we're signing up to do a Fantasy Fest float again this year, I'm thinking that I'll want to drop 3 pounds to make myself a little happier in my skimpy outfit. I'm throwing it out there out loud and in public for everyone to read. When something is written, it is in stone and it must be done.
SO, now I've told the world that I want to get down to 135 - 136 before Fantasy Fest (Oct 31). So I'm committed!
