It's possible to drop the weight without a gym.... really

Hopefully all of my Blog fans have realized that Weight Management is all about monitoring your incoming calories (food) vs outgoing calories (physical activity). You aren’t interested in going to a gym, that's fine – instead, you have chosen to decrease your incoming calories. That works, too.

Here are some 'little things' that may help to add up to some extra calorie burn during your day:

· Stand more often - I burn nearly twice the calories standing vs seated.

· When you brush your teeth, lift your legs and march high in place.

· When you answer the phone, stand up.

· Stand/walk in place while you watch TV.

· Take the steps instead of the elevator.

· Take the long way to the bathroom - if you work on the 3rd floor in your office building walk down a flight or up a flight of stairs and use the restroom on another floor.

· Take the dog for a walk instead of letting him out into the backyard, even if it’s only a 15 minute walk (he appreciates is and so will you). No dog? Play with the cat every day for 15 minutes by standing with a string or flashlight.

· Instead of leaving a stack of stuff at the bottom of the steps to take upstairs, make the trip up the steps each time.

· Sweep/vacuum every day.

· Wash the car yourself, instead of running it through the car wash.

Just a few things to get you started on lightly increasing your activity level!

Yours in Health, Wellness, and a Fabulous smelling home/office,
